Once upon a midnight’s moon
I danced with my dear about the gloom.
The stars did shine bright in the sky
While all my hopes and fears danced by.
My lover’s eyes bright as the globe
That lights our world — a pausing strobe.
A smile so tender and so dear
A tear escapes as I hold her near.
We try to treasure this night for it’s
The one we have. The one we get.
For when the sun rises in the morn.
She vanishes into the dawn.
